Nicole Weidinger

Nicole Weidinger

Nurse practitioner Nicole Weidinger is board certified as both a family nurse practitioner and an advance hospice and palliative care nurse. Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Georgetown University where she also received a minor in Theology.

Following receiving her bachelor's degree, Nicole entered the Cancer Nurse Research Program at the National Institutes of Health at NIH where she worked clinically with medical oncology and stem cell transplant patients while doing research in both mainstream pain management as well as complementary and alternative medicine pain management techniques.

After completing her research program at the National Institute of Health, Nicole received her Master's of Science in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in Pain and Palliative Care.

While at the University of Pennsylvania, she published a paper in the Journal of Pain and Palliative Care, "Social Support Web Based Resources for Patients with Chronic Pain."

Since completing her education in 2007, Nicole has worked in Chronic Pain Management, Acute Pain Management, and Palliative Medicine at Georgetown University, Sibley Hospital, and George Washington University.

She now practices palliative medicine at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center with the Newman Medical Group. Nicole's interests include chronic and acute pain management, social support of palliative care patients and their families as well as medication assister therapy of opioid use disorders. When she is not working with patients, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family including 3 boys and volunteering in the community.
